It’s optional! Attending with a partner is recommended but not required since you can always partner with other solo attendees.
In the future, we’ll be able to accommodate requests if you want to hire a professional rope partner for the class.
CLOTHES: If you reckon you’ll perspire a lot, bring small towels and a change of clothes. We have a bathroom at the studio where you can have privacy while changing.
ROPE: Depending on the type of tying you plan to do, you may want to bring anywhere between 1-4 bondage-safe ropes. We recommend ones that are 8-meters long and have a diameter that’s anywhere between 5-8mm thick. Natural fiber jute ropes are encouraged but not required. Synthetic ropes and cotton ropes are okay.
If you have none yet, you may buy rope from our online shop or buy in person at our studio (depending on stock availability).
EMT/SAFETY SHEARS: We use a special kind of scissors for bondage—the kind used by paramedics for emergency situations which have a blunt tip. We’ll have several shears available during the event but you are encouraged to get your own pair.
MEDICATION: Please remember to bring medication if you need any— especially for emergencies (asthma inhalers, insulin, etc.).
You can browse our selection of natural fiber ropes (jute ropes/asanawa) and synthetic fiber ropes (polypropylene ropes) in our online store or in person at our rope studio.
If none are available at the moment, that means a pre-order is on the way. Join these pre-orders for bigger savings as we order in bulk from our suppliers!
This is your choice. However, SPH thinks of codenames like seatbelts for your privacy. It’s better to use one and not need it than to not have one and regret it later.
Note: Anyone caught harassing other attendees for personal details will be reprimanded or sent out. Repeat offenders will be blacklisted from future events and reported to the other local kink groups.
Photographs are only allowed during Workshops and Jams if all attendees captured in the shot are informed and validly consenting. We may dedicate a photo-safe zone where photo-taking is allowed.
However, please refrain from taking photographs during Rope Salons.
Yes! Cancellations made less than 7 days before the event are non-refundable due to difficulties in securing replacements. Cancellations made prior to this 7-day window will incur a 50% cancellation fee.
If public events aren’t for you, you can hire us to host private kink events for your group, business, or organization. Send us an email to learn more!
Shibari.ph is an educational resource and kink community for Japanese rope bondage enthusiasts in the Philippines.
Just like martial arts and extreme sports, accidents can and do happen to both newbies and experienced practitioners.
We highly encourage you to study directly under a responsible and experienced practitioner to avoid serious injuries and lasting harm.
