About NawaKenshin

Nawa Kenshin/Sean (@NawaKenshin on IG), embarked on his journey with shibari in 2010, following a period of overseas work as a photographer and videographer specializing in SM and gravure productions. During this time, he was fortunate to receive guidance from the esteemed Chris Thomson, known as Calendar King. However, due to limited access to comprehensive shibari instructions, he temporarily set the practice aside.

In 2019, a significant turning point occurred for him, leading to a renewed passion for shibari. Since then, he has provided over 100 women with captivating and emotionally engaging rope experiences, culminating in the present year, 2023.

His artistic expression has been deeply influenced by the distinctive styles of Yukimura, Yagami, and Osada’s ryu. As a testament to his dedication, he traveled to Japan in March 2023 to partake in intensive lessons from the renowned Osada Steve.

In his pursuits, NawaKenshin prioritizes a connection that transcends the physical aspect of the practice. He seeks to create sessions that are not only aesthetically beautiful but also profoundly emotional and meaningful for all involved.

Event Overview

Transform your ties into cinematic moments. Ready to make your rope work unforgettable? This immersive session is your backstage pass to the art of lighting—where chiaroscuro magic meets raw emotion. Learn how to sculpt drama, shape mood, and create gallery-worthy images with just light and rope. Cameras encouraged. Curiosity required. Don’t miss the workshop that will change how you see—and shoot—rope forever.

What you’ll learn:

  • Storytelling
  • Chiaroscuro
  • Equipment (hands-on)

Not just knots. It’s energy, emotion, and presence. Feel every breath. Match every heartbeat. This isn’t about the tie—it’s about the why. Learn how pacing, pressure, and presence turn rope into a language of connection. Whether you’re new to floorwork or craving deeper ties, this session will leave you charged, challenged, and craving more.

What you’ll learn:

  • Intent
  • Pressure
  • Pacing
  • Matching

It’s more than play—it’s emotional strategy. You’ve tied before—but have you played the rope game? This session takes floorwork to a whole new level, exploring the deeper psychology of power exchange, vulnerability, and nawakokoro (the heart behind the rope). Get ready for moments that will stay with you long after the rope comes off. This one hits deep.

What you’ll learn:

  • NawaKokoro
  • The Rope Game
  • The End Game

Let loose, light up, and tie your heart out. No rules, no pressure—just good vibes, great company, and the freedom to explore. Whether you’re showing off a new technique or just jamming with friends, this is where magic happens. Rope, relax, repeat.

All levels welcome! You are  warmly invited to socialize, watch, or tie with us.

(Dee’s note: A limited number of attendees will be able to tie with NawaKenshin!)

Step off the floor and into the air—safely. Your rope journey goes vertical! Learn the essential principles of safe, grounded suspension: weight management, upline tension, and reading the body in real time. Perfect for those ready to level up and experience the thrill of lift-off—with intention and care.

What you’ll learn:

  • Understanding the body
  • Weight Management
  • Managing upline tensions

This is where it clicks. Master the mechanics of uplines, lock-offs, and the iconic suspension sequence that sets the foundation for everything to come. Build trust, flow, and confidence—whether you’re in the air or on the ground making it happen. If you’ve ever dreamt of flying, this is your gateway.

What you’ll learn:

  • Upline lockoffs and management; thought process
  • Classic suspension sequence
