Event Details

AGKT (aguacate)’s journey into Japanese rope bondage (kinbaku/shibari) started in August 2015.

Since then, AGKT has been extremely fortunate to cross the path of many rope artists around the globe, and learning from some of the most respected bakushi from Japan, Europe and North America. AGKT enjoys the theatrical, sensual and artistic aspect of ropes.

Although his main influence is “traditional” Japanese rope bondage, AGKT enjoys mixing techniques and materials.

The skillsharing event will cover various topics:

  1. Brief history of Kinbaku (Japanese rope bondage)
  2. Negotiation in the context of sadomasochist ropes
  3. Aspects of physical and emotional safety
  4. Introduction to esthetics of suffering with applied examples
  5. Some key concepts of Japanese rope bondage with exercises
(tension, speed, accuracy, fluidity, observation, etc.)
  6. Floorwork exercices with a partner
(breast, legs, crotch, mouth, neck, etc. depending on the group)
  7. Beyond the knots, various uses of ropes

You can reserve your slots by contacting us at [email protected] or through the Shibari.ph Facebook Page!

Note: Kindly remember that this event requires you to attend with a partner.

The workshop venue is a private fitness studio in Bonifacio Global City, near Market! Market! (mall).

The exact venue details will be made available to attendees once you’ve paid and confirmed attendance!

Parking: For those driving to the venue, parking is available at the ground and basement floors.

Yes, to fully maximize this workshop, you must attend with a partner.

We encourage sports, yoga, or any exercise attire as long as they aren’t too baggy.

Bras with underwires are discouraged since any chest-related bondage might give you a harder time breathing (plus there’s a risk of deforming the wire).

MEDICATION: Please remember to bring medication if you need any— especially for emergencies (asthma inhalers, insulin, etc.).

CLOTHES: If you reckon you’ll perspire a lot, bring small towels and a change of clothes. There’s a water dispenser for you to stay hydrated and a comfort room nearby where you can get changed too.

NOTES: Bring a pen and paper so you can take notes! You can ask us questions anytime throughout the workshop. 🙂

ROPE: You are encouraged to bring your own rope.

You’ll receive two (2) 8m lengths of bondage-safe synthetic rope—but both synthetic and hand-treated Japanese jute rope will be available for sale at the venue.

We’re happy to notice that attendees of our Shibari.ph events tend to be comfortable enough to not use codenames anymore.

However, the Philippines still faces some stigma when it comes to the practice of activities under BDSM.

To protect your privacy, we highly encourage the use of code names and aliases during the workshops (especially if you plan to join the local kink community).

Note: Anyone caught harassing other attendees for personal details will be reprimanded or sent out. Repeat offenders will be blacklisted from future events and reported to the other local kink groups.

As an added level of security, we won’t be allowing photographs to be taken by anyone other than the group’s official/authorized photographer.

They are specifically instructed to creatively crop personally identifiable features from view and, in cases where it’s unavoidable, to blur them well before publishing.

Exception: We might dedicate a photo-safe zone and allow pictures if all the attendees agree to it.
